This is a 12 month fixed-term opportunity.

We are seeking a new International Manager to join our International Office. As a regional expert, you will be responsible for developing and implementing recruitment plans to grow effective recruitment channels, student applications and enrolments in key markets including the Americas and Europe. You will also support transnational education and student mobility as required.

Whilst we remain firmly committed to our regional community, we are determined to deliver against ambitious international strategic priorities, the major objective of this exciting opportunity.

You will play a critical role, contributing to the development of strategic and operational plans, managing agents and key partners to support international student recruitment targets and raising brand awareness.

You will build key relationships with education agencies, identifying opportunities that will aid with the growth and diversification of the international student population at the University of Auckland while meeting University targets, and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions and trends. You will join a high performing global International Recruitment team that contributes to the University’s International Strategy and its objectives at an exciting time as we implement our re-engagement strategy.

Under the leadership of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Engagement) the International Office supports the development, maintenance and strengthening of key international relationships that will enhance and enable our ability to perform as a globally competitive University.

About you

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of international student recruitment, business development, stakeholder engagement and management to achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Candidates will need to be experienced in data analysis and reporting, as there will be a requirement to report on market trends and student recruitment data extensively.
  • As experienced international education professional with excellent problem-solving skills, you have a commitment to results-oriented, collaborative and evidence-based ways of working
  • You will have experience of international student recruitment in the tertiary education environment, achieving targets and working with academics, profiling their programmes of study, or a deep understanding of the international student market and experience, though experience working with and supporting international students or international student recruitment
  • You will have a proven track record of customer relationship management and having the professionalism to represent the University internationally.
  • Proactivity, energy, and efficiency will be key, as will an ability to inspire confidence and respect while working effectively with different groups of people and cultures.

Your efforts will directly contribute to the continued success of the University, in particular in meeting targets for the recruitment of international students, many of whom you can look forward to fostering ongoing relationships.

You should be prepared for some weekend and evening work and possibly overseas travel. You will have a strong desire to work within an ethos of creative collaboration and partnership.
